WRI Beijing office is seeking a highly motivated graduate or college student to be a part-time intern for the China Water Project.
Position Summary:
The World Resources Institute (WRI) Beijing office seeks a part-time research intern (10-20 hours per week) in the fall semester to provide support to the China Water team. Particularly, she/he will help with developing tools and methodologies for low carbon infrastructure and urban water management, and assist using market based mechanisms to control water pollution.
The intern will be paid monthly at the rate of 20 RMB/Hour. The intern should come to the office at least once a week and he or she can work remotely the rest of the time.
Major Responsibilities:
The Intern will support the China Water team in the following areas, including:
• Research
o Conduct literature review, draft summary, and collect and process data
o Other research activities per request
• Translation
o Draft translation per request from the supervisor. Translation may include newsletter, power point, internal documents and research paper.
• Others
o Other activities per the request of the supervisor
Qualifications:
• Enrolled graduate student or senior in college, preferably major in environmental engineering, or environmental policy
• Familiar with water and energy issues, especially with terms in the topic areas both in Chinese and English
• Fluency in Chinese and English
• Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and PDF
• Attention to details
• Response to request in a timely manner
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
